Chad Reed showed the world last Saturday night at the SX season opener in Anaheim that he is not racing for second in 2009. After a tough heat race, where contact with his teammate Mike Alessi and an off track excursion resulted in a sub-par finish, Reed came off the line in the main event focused on winning.

Narrowly beaten to the first turn by Josh Grant and other-worldly James Stewart, Reed wasted no time passing Grant and putting the heat on Stewart. Consistently showing Stewart a wheel in almost every turn, Reed completed a pass after a tricky rhythm section. For the next four laps Stewart hounded Reed and then was able to make a pass after a long whoops section. Reed immediately attacked and again was making his presence known in every turn. Coming out of a bowl turn and lining up for a long whoops section, Stewart seem to lose drive and drift left. This caused a collision between Reed and Stewart. Both riders remounted but only Reed was able to start his motorcycle. Stewart failed to start his bike and was hit by Kevin Windham when he attempted to push his bike off the track. With his front brake damaged, Reed never was able to push forward but held onto third place for the race.

One thing is certain; Chad Reed has found a new gear that has Stewart panic revving.

Winter Dew Tour Finals http://www.scott-sports.com/ca_en/news/wintersport/1635/winter_dew_tour_finals Sat, 20 Dec 2008 20:59:02 -0700
Today brought an end to all the skiing events at the first ever Winter Dew Tour stop in Breckenridge, Colorado. Snow, cold, and high winds could not stop SCOTT Athletes from excelling throughout the week and it paid off today.

Men's Slope Podium

Men's slopestyle saw several SCOTT athletes in the finals and Henrik Harlaut led the charge by finishing 3rd after qualifying first. Jossi Wells (poles), ended up finishing second just ahead of Henrik. Matt Walker had a great day and finished fifth, Simon Dumont (poles) finished seventh, and Alexis Godbout came in ninth.

Keri Herman

Keri Herman took home third place in the women's slopestyle event after battling through the high winds and blowing snow while spinning both ways on the first two hits of the course.

Justin Dorey

Tonight brought out the lights on the Peak 8 Superpipe and all the big guns came out blazing. After a few brief course holds, the winds held off long enough to get the final 12 men through without any hiccups. When the dust settled it was Tanner Hall on top and Justin Dorey finishing in second place after skiing super strong all week. SCOTT Pole athletes Peter Olenick and Simon Dumont finished 4th and 5th respectively, just off the podium.

Men's Pipe Podium

It was a great Dew Tour for SCOTT athletes, and we look forward to the next stop at Mt. Snow, Vermont, January 8 - 12, 2009.

Winter Dew Tour Day 4 http://www.scott-sports.com/ca_en/news/wintersport/1634/winter_dew_tour_day_4 Fri, 19 Dec 2008 20:51:26 -0700
The skies cleared today over Breckenridge for the Ski Superpipe Elimination Round and skiers threw down. The field of 35 men needed to be whittled down to the final 12 and skiers were laying down everything they had.

Justin Dorey in route to 2nd place in qualifiers

As the wind died down, it was Simon Dumont on top with Justin Dorey in second and youngster Duncan Adams in third. It was noticeable that some of the big boyz were holding back their biggest tricks for the finals on Saturday night under the lights.

The top 12 advanced to finals

SCOTT Pole athletes Josiah Wells, and Peter Olenick are also in to the finals on Saturday, which will be a long day for many athletes as the slopestyle prelims and finals are going on as well as Pipe finals at night. Good luck to all athletes.

Day 3 of Dew Tour in Breckenridge came to a close today with no events being completed. Mother Nature put down a course hold of her own with high winds and blowing snow wreaking havoc on the course. SCOTT Athletes were still able to get some practice laps on the course before the weather put a stop to the day. Enjoy the photos and check back tomorrow!

Today was another windy day at the Dew Tour in Breckenridge but the wind couldn't keep kids from boosting high above the pipe. The Men's Ski Superpipe qualifying rounds went off and SCOTT athletes John Strenio and Tyler Peterson made the push into the next round.

Snow, wind, and cold temperatures could not put a damper on day one of the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado. The first day brought the Men's Ski Slopestyle prelims to Freeway 8 in Breck.

The view from the top

Henrik Harlaut came out swinging on both runs with his ever-ooozing style and threw down a flawless Cab 12 en route to a first place finish in the prelim qualifier, thus earning himself a spot in every stop of the Dew Tour. Not far behind Henrik was Alexis Godbout who finished in fourth place with a smooth run.

Joe Schuster, Ian Cosco, and Karl Fostvedt trying to stay warm

SCOTT Athletes Nick Martini, Sean Jordan, and Karl Fostvedt also moved on to the next round in a tough qualifying day. Stay tuned for updates all week long. ]]>
