Tour Triathlon Spezial '09




"Tour" magazine, Germany’s largest and most famous road publication, is heralded for its attention to technical details. In its triathlon special for 2009, Tour performs an in-depth review of seven triathlon frames, testing each in specific catagories before issuing an overall ranking. ‘Seven models...show in the wind tunnel what is technically possible when money is no object.’


Comparison of frame wind drag at 45km/h

In the critical area of aerodynamics, Tour tested each frame without rider at a wind speed of forty-five kilometers per hour. After all the raw data were compiled, Tour placed the Plasma at the front of the line, giving it the ranking ‘Top Aerodynamik’.

The magazine goes on to say that, ‘No frame in the test is more radically designed, and none offers the wind a smaller surface to grab…The SCOTT Plasma LTD is the clear test winner.’
