Crashes at Indy and Podiums in Georgia

The 11th round of the 16-round Monster Energy Supercross series landed in Indianapolis, IN last weekend.  The Lucas Oil Stadium was packed and the energy levels were high as the racing action kicked off Saturday night.

250SX East Coast Class

Justin Hill

Justin Hill led the way for SCOTT athletes in the East Coast 250SX class.  Justin had a great geat race and finished 2nd.  In the main event,Justin rode strong and consistent to finish 5th overall.  Hill maintains 6th place in the 250SX East point standings.

Zach Freeburg

SCOTT goggle athlete Zach Freeburg qualified for the main event with a solid 4th place finish in his heat race.  In the 250SX main event, Zach finished 14th overall and sits 17th inpoints.

Levi Killbarger

Levi Killbarger had a good night in Indy, qualifying for the main event via a 6th place finish in his qualifier.  In the main, Killbrager finished just behind Freeburg in 15th.  Levi sits 18th in points.

Dean Wilson

Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider and SCOTT athlete Dean Wilson had a hard crash in the main event on the first lap while battling for the lead with teammate Josh Hill.  Wilson suffered a broken rib, punctured lung, and afractured back and shoulder in the crash. SCOTT Motosports would like to wish Wilson a speedy recoveryand hope to see him back on the bike soon.  Get well soon Deano!

450SX Class

Andrew Short

In the 450SX class, SCOTT goggle athlete Andrew Short was the top finisher.  Short finished 7th in the main event after qualifying for the main with a 3rd place heat race finish.  Short is now 8th in the point standings.

Phil Nicoletti

SCOTT goggle athlete Phil Nicoletti had a solid night in Indy.  He finished 8th in the second 450SX heat race and then went on to finish 14th overall in the main event.

Trey Canard

Trey Canard was on a roll in Indy.  Trey was the second fastest qualifier in practice and went on to finish second in his heat race.  It looked like Canard was poised to do well in the main, but while moving through the pack, Canard went down hard and suffered a concussion, effectively killing his race.  We were glad to see Canard walk away from the crash and hope to see him back soon!

The next Supercross round is March 23rd in Toronto, Canada.

SCOTT Athletes Sweep Georgia GNCC Podium

The second round of the GNCC series kicked off in Georgia last weekend and SCOTT goggle athletes Kailub Russell, Charlie Mullins, and Thad Duvall swept the pro class XC1 podium in dominating fashion.

Kailub Russell

Kailub Russell took the top step on the podium after battling with teammate Charlie Mullins for nearly 3 hours.  The two swapped back and forth, with Russell crossing the line only 2 seconds ahead of Mullins.  Russell's now tied for the points lead with Mullins.

Charlie Mullins snagged 2nd overall just behind his teammate.

Thad Duvall

SCOTT goggle athlete Thad Duvall finished a strong 3rd overall in the pro class,and sits 4th in points heading into the next round.

Chris Borich Wins Georgia ATV GNCC

Chris Borich

SCOTT goggle athlete Chris Borich took the GNCC win in the ATV XC1 class last weekend in Georgia.  This marks Borich's second win in as many races and extends his lead to 14 points.  SCOTT goggle athlete Johnny Gallagher also landed on the podium in 3rd.

The next stop for the GNCC series is March 24th in Blackwell, Texas.
