SCOTT team runner Sage Canaday (27, Boulder, CO) took on the challenge of a muddy Bandera 100k course and came out with a statement victory, claiming his first 100k championship in 8:13:49.  Running on the recently launched SCOTT T2 Kinabalu, Canaday took three minutes off Dave Mackey's previous course record, and earned an entry into the 2013 Western States 100.  Mr. Mackey came in second, some 40 minutes behind Canaday, securing a masters victory for the second year in a row, followed by Paul Terranova of Austin, Texas in third.

Notably, last year's 100k winner Timothy Olson (Ashland, OR) ran a 4:18 for a win in the Bandera 50k, though five men (including Canaday) went through the 50k mark faster than he did.  While it is unclear at present whether Mr. Canaday will enter the Western States 100 and take a major step up to the 100-mile distance, one thing is clear: Sage will make a mark on the ultra-running world.

On the women's side of the race, SCOTT runner Meghan Arbogast (51, Corvallis, OR) battled flu-like symptoms to 7th overall in the Women's Open category, while handily winning her age-group in an overall time of 12:23:27.

SCOTT Sports would like to wholeheartedly congratulate Sage and Meghan on their fantastic results, and we look forward to an amazing 2013!
