SCOTT announces new signings to Triathlon team roster

07 April 2022

SCOTT announces a strengthened Triathlon team with the signing of up-and-comers and proven veterans, paving the way for future success. With two World Championships and an expansion of the PTO Tour, the 2022 race season is lining up to be one for the books.

Magnus Ditlev, Ashleigh Gentle and Rasmus Svenningsson all join team SCOTT for 2 years and will ride exclusively with SCOTT bikes. Having all caught the attention of the race scene, and earning an impressive accolade of results between them, the stage is set for a successful season to come. Magnus Ditlev comments, "In partnering with SCOTT I’m excited to get the chance to work with a team that has the same ambitions and dedicated attitude towards every single aspect and detail of their bikes. When I toe the line in a race, I want to be sure that I’m racing on the fastest equipment available, and I truly believe that SCOTT delivers that."

The 2022 season is sure to be host to gripping racing as 2014 World Champion Sebastian Kienle also renews his contract with SCOTT. Having announced his retirement at the end of 2021, Kienle will now race with SCOTT right until the end of his decorated triathlon career. Having ridden SCOTT bikes since 2010, Sebi has been fundamental in the way that the Plasma has evolved. Inspiring amateurs and age groupers around the world, Kienle has a long and distinguished career behind him. The stage is set for a stellar final two seasons for the German racer. "I’m happy to close my triathlon career as it started, with a strong company like SCOTT behind me. It’s been a pleasure to work with them for the past 12 years and I look forward to what the future can bring," comments Sebastian Kienle.

SCOTT has a rich tradition in triathlon and the SCOTT Plasma has continually pushed the boundaries of product design. With the latest Plasma platform, the engineers at SCOTT focused on the specific needs of long-distance triathletes. When starting the project, there was a clear goal in mind: build the fastest bike the triathlon world has ever seen. The result is cutting-edge aerodynamics, a huge range of positions, and full integration - including nutrition and hydration directly in the cockpit - making the Plasma the best weapon for long-distance performance.

Reto Aeschbacher, CMO at SCOTT adds: "At SCOTT, racing has been in our DNA since the beginning. Working with world-class athletes allows us to test our product innovations at the most elite level and design products to support their success. We're incredibly proud to have the world's most accomplished and interesting triathletes racing with our bikes and look forward to continuing this path of success together."
