The Contessa Race collection is designed using the same unique philosophy that first inspired our revolutionary CR1 carbon fiber racing line - “Innovation, Technology, and Design”. Developed with the input of our experienced Contessa team, each segment of the line addresses the needs of the modern female athlete who demands high-end performance, no different from their male counterparts.

"I "HEART" SCOTT
"
Style has always been important to me. Ever since I can remember, I have paid close attention to what clothes will make me look good, and to what shoes will make me look even better. Anyone who knows me can attest that I do not go many places without my three-inch platform flip-flops. These shoes make me feel confident, powerful, and stylish.

However, these flip-flops are not just a good-looking pair of shoes. They actually feel good on my feet. They support my arches, and they offer me a bit of cushion. They are functional and fashionable.
Why would I be writing about tall flip-flop sandals in Triathlete Magazine? To me it’s a logical comparison to my smokin’ hot Scott Plasma Contessa, and soon I am going to tell you why.
I have ridden fast bikes before; I have ridden pretty bikes before; I have ridden big ones, small ones, and medium sized ones. I have ridden road bikes, time trial bikes, and triathlon-specific bikes. I have ridden 650c wheels and 700c wheels. I have ridden steel, aluminum, carbon and titanium. Truly, I have tried it all.
However, prior to last year, I had never found a bike that inspired me to call it my own; to call it my favorite. Until I found the Contessa, I was always settling on some level or another.
When I first opened the box, and pulled out the frame, I immediately noticed two things. The first was that I had never seen such a perfect blend of tough and girly. The pink and black and white all went so well together. This bike was certainly HOT. The next thing I noticed was how light the frame felt. It was clear to me that we were off to a good start.
Once Michael (husband extraordinaire) built the bike with a full round of FSA, Vision bars, and Campy Record, my ride was finally ready to roll. It did not take long (approximately 3 minutes and 14 seconds) for me to fall in love with my Scott.
I had found the perfect blend of form and function, of style and performance. I was so happy. And then I rode another couple hours. Within that time, it became very clear that my Contessa was very aero, very light, and easily the best performing bike I have ever ridden.
The size 49 felt as though it were custom built for my body. I could handle it on a curvy mountain descent (something that used to scare me), and I could manage it in a gusty crosswind (something that used to scare me even more than mountain descents!). I could stay aero, and I could still ride with power over mountains. I was able to throw down with this machine, and I was able to do so without feeling weighed down.
Have I found my perfect match? Will I begin to love riding a bike as much as I love running? And more importantly, can I finally say that I love my bike for its pinkness, its lightness, and its awesomeness? I can definitely say yes to these questions: I HEART Scott!- Amanda Lavato
