Say hello to Travis. Only two years into his professional career, the younger Meyer brother is back where he began– with Shayne and the Australian Sports Institute. He is happy to return to his roots. Happier still to be joined by his brother.
Cycling is a family affair for the Meyers. Like his brother Cameron, Travis got his start on the track. The multiple junior World Champion transitioned to road racing with the AIS before he racing professionally with Slipstream Sports.
This past year was a tough one for the 2010 Australian road race champion. He was out of action for more than half the season after surgery for a blocked artery in his left leg in June 2011. Travis calls the move to GreenEDGE a new chapter is his still-young career. He is quick to express appreciation for the faith Shayne has shown in him despite the time he spent off the bike last season.
"Sitting on the sidelines for a good portion of the year is frustrating, for sure, but it only adds to my motivation. It will be a challenge to be patient – not to rush things."
