Floriane Pugin Wins iXS European Downhill Cup in Leogang

24 June 2013

Floriane led the pack when it came to strong finishes for the Gstaad-SCOTT team this weekend in Leogang. Finishing first, she added to her podium tally for the year continuing on last weeks success in Val di Sole. Emilie Siegenthaler finished in second, while noel Niederberger finished as the fastest junior and Patrick Thome finished in 6th in the men's field.

The riders described the track as lightning fast. It was loose and dusty in training, wet during the qualifier, and ideally tacky in the finals. Floriane used the week in Leogang to work on her bike set up, which proved to work out quite well. She now has two weeks to head home and train some more before the next World Cup event.

Noel Niederberger recovered well from his head ratteling crash at last weeks World Cup to finish 11th in the Elite Men's field, the fastest Junior and the fastest Swiss.

Time to start looking forward to the next World Cup event in July.
