Nino Schurter Grabs Second Victory of 2013

15 April 2013

A good mixture of excellent riding and terrific spring weather contributed to Nino Schurter’s second victory of the 2013 Season at this past weekend’s stage of the BMC Racing Cup in Lugano/Tesserete.

The 6.1 kilometer technical course would set the stage for a battle between two of the sports giants- SCOTT Swisspower’s Nino Schurter and BMC Racing’s Julien Absalon. As is the case so often with these two, the winner was decided in the final sprint. In the end, it would be Nino who would persevere, and continue to rack in the victories following his World Championship winning season.

"To compete against Julien Absalon I always have big respect. He is the most successful racer in history- and always a good measurement of my own fitness skills. Looking back at this last race, my win makes me even more happy," said Nino.

Getting back on track is Florian Vogel. In Schaan he was still suffering from his Cape Epic injuries and was not able to finish. In Tesserete he placed 4th behind Absalon, Fanger and Stirnemann, showing he is making his way back. No less impressive was the second win of Frischi Junior who also ruled both races in Schaan and Tesserete. Until he qualifies for the elite/U23 categorie, Andri Frischknecht is racing in the amateur/U23 class. If he continues this strongly he soon will move up a step.

It has been a good start to the season for the SCOTT Seisspower team- we look forward to what is to come.
