Scale 700 & 900 Reviewed
The 2014 Scale 700 and 900 series were reviewed by the most important Mountain Bike Magazines in the business. Check out what the editors wrote.
Bike Radar/MB UK/WMTN: "Scott’s race and carbon expertise delivers a game-changing blend of responsiveness and control".
"Scott’s Scale 710 delivers true race breed speed and an aggressive attitude that spans the 29er smoothness/26er sprint gap superbly. Its mix of immediate punch plus instant agility – with a traction-boosting trail connection and its smooth float over staccato roots and rocks – marks it out as a fantastic and fast technical singletrack weapon. The Scale 710 sets a whole new benchmark for hardtails of any wheel size in the process."

Bike GER: "Anticipate, shift, attack! The Scale 700 RC simply is a rocket! The super light, World Cup-winning bike of Nino Schurter shines on challenging terrain with lots of changes in speed and direction."
Pedal Magazine CAN: "The Scott Scale 740 can carve, carry speed and respond quickly to anything you encounter. The team at Scott has come up with a bike that fits most riders’ price point and exceeds their expectations."
MBR UK: "The SCALE 740 gets a good roundup – for anyone looking for an XC race Hardtail that feels as sharp, direct and responsive as a 26in bike, the Scale 740 could be just the ticket."
Bicycling.com USA: "I have ridden numerous long- and short-travel full-suspension 27.5 bikes but not yet a modern hardtail. The Scale surprised me. As a huge fan of 29er XC bikes I expected to find the midsize wheel platform lacks many of the traits I love about the bigger wheels: momentum, traction, and roll-over ability. However, the 27.5 wheels took the sting out of the deep braking bumps and didn’t feel twitchy like a 26. Acceleration does indeed seem snappier than a 29er, too. Handling is more flickable and snappy as well." Read the whole story here.
World of MTB GER: "With the Scale 900 SL SCOTT remains at the wheel: The super light full carbon frame, a Sram XX1 groupset, reliable Shimano XTR disc brakes and Syncros carbon parts make for a 8.71kg complete bike. Light, stiff and equipped with class-winning components the Scale 900 SL is among our favorite hardtail bikes."
MountainBIKE GER: "Light and fast. Confidence-inspiring and versatile. The Scale 700 RC carries outstanding components at a fair price. The Scale 700 RC shines from A-Z and consequently wins this race hardtail test."
Bike France: ‘’Stable, handy, light, the Scale is really reactive.’’
