Meet Leigh. A prodigy on the track, Leigh shot to prominence in Australian cycling on the boards. The Victorian is has won world titles in the omnium, team pursuit and Madison.
While continuing his reign on the track, Leigh has evolved as a road sprinter during his two-year career with the Highroad set-up. He moved to GreenEDGE to start a new chapter in his young, fruitful career.
Leigh’s precocious talent was on display with his Tour of Oman stage win in 2010. Here he outsmarted and outsprinted older, more experienced rivals. It’s given him a taste for victory in bigger races. He eagerly anticipates supporting Matt Goss at Milan-San-Remo and hopes working with one of the sport’s most decorated sprinters, Robbie McEwen, will help him hone his craft.
The 22-year-old aims to start a Tour de France in the next few years. Eventually, he wants to develop into the main man for flatter, faster bunch finishes.
