How and when did you start skiing, how has it evolved ever since and what got you into freeskiing?
I started skiing when I was 3 with my Dad. I always wanted to go into the “Snowboard Only” Terrain Parks. I didn’t ski between the ages of 7 and 12 as my family lived in Quito, Ecuador. I moved back to Canada with a passion to re-learn how to ski when I was 13. I joined a freestyle club where I learned how to jump and ski pipe.
Who were/ are your idols on and off the hill?
My Canadian teammates inspire me the most on the hill: Justin, Mike, Matt and Sarah. As a basketball player, I looked up to Steve Nash and Lisa Leslie. I have always admired the spirit and energy of female rockers: Karen O, Joan Jett and Kim Deal.
What does skiing mean to you personally?
Skiing is a way to be totally in the moment. I love being outside and the beauty of the mountains.
What were your 3 biggest accomplishments on hill?
1. Winning WSI 2009 Big Air with a 1080.2. My first X-games medal at the US X-Games 2010. 3. Winning the Inaugural Grand Prix in Copper Mt. on my 21st birthday

What aspect of skiing thrills you the most?
I love just being in the air. And the rush of landing a run in competition that you are proud of (and a little scared of) is pretty unbeatable.
In what conditions and what terrain do enjoy riding the most?
I love riding soft pipes in the sun and powder in the trees in any weather.
Any activities that aren’t ski related?
Mountain biking, yoga, trampoline, music concerts and going to school at Quest University Canada.
