Athlete talk

How and when did you start skiing, how has it evolved ever since and what got you into freeskiing?
My father thought me how to ski when I was 3 years old. A few years later I started ski racing. During that time I also skied often in the backcountry and liked it a lot. That's why I quit the racing at age 12 and have spent all my time off piste ever since.

Who were/ are your idols on and off the hill?
All the people who live their passion of skiing.

What does skiing mean to you personally?
To me it means ultimate freedom. I love being out in the mountains with my friends, spotting new lines and pushing each other.

What were your 3 biggest accomplishments on hill and why?
 - Winning two freeride competitions, at the age of 15, being the youngest participant.
 - My trips to New Zealand, Norway and South America.
 - I've got some good results at 2 FWQ events in NZ. I was 17 years old.

What aspect of skiing thrills you the most?
Planning a line or peak for one or more days and finally standing on top of it with my skis on. That feeling is just great.

In what conditions and what terrain do enjoy riding the most?
Steep faces with good snow and many cliff sections.

How can you keep family/ friends and skiing in balance?
I can still spend enough time with my family during the season and I'm usually skiing with my friends, so this hasn't been a problem so far.

I really like the Stunt ski. I’ve skied this ski for many years now and I'm fully confident with it. When I'm just skiing around in the backcountry I love to ski the Mega Dozer.
The Preston jacket is great too! It looks super cool and I even do a lot of alpinism with it.
