Great start to the season for Céline Gros

For the third time in a row, Céline Gros won the Maxxis Downhill Cup in Portugal, which for many riders is the season opener. “To tell you the truth, I did not think that I could win the race. I didn’t feel in top shape and I had problems with my damping adjustment. Nevertheless I did my best and at the end it paid off. Most of the riders use the first race only to test their new equipment and to balance out where they are standing. For the World Cup this means that nothing is set yet, and that there are further exciting races to come. I would be happy if I could keep my level this high." (Photo by Alexandre Silva)
