Bicycling explains Nude TC Shock
BALL JOINT: Because the Nude TC has spherical ball joints at either end (rather than fixed eyelet bushings), frame twist won't cause stiction in the shock; force is distributed more evenly. Also, because the shock is not a stressed or structural part of the frame, it can be built lighter and Scott says the seals should last longer.

ADDITIONAL AIR CHAMBER: The Nude TC's piggyback is an air chamber. When the 70mm- travel mode is activated, airflow to this piggyback is cut off, restricting available air volume. This creates a much more progressive spring curve, making it impossible for the shock to stroke its full, 110mm length.
REMOTE CONTROL L-TC-A: The cable from the handlebar remote connects here. It opens and closes the TC (air) valve, and lockout (oil) valves.
TRACTION VALVE: The TC valve opens to allow air flow into the piggyback for 110mm travel, and closes to restrict air flow for Traction mode (70mm).
LOOKOUT VALVE: Unlike the TC mode, which is an air restriction, the Nude's lockout works by restricting oil flow through the piston. On hard impacts, blow-off ports open to prevent damage to the shock and frame.
