Big results at the Big Mountain Pro
The Big Mountain Pro is a competition like no other. During a one-week journey, 24 of the best snowboarders and freeskiers travelled by bus around the Alps, seeking out the best freeride spots. After making its way through Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France, the tour stopped in the well known freeride area of La Grave, France. There, the riders watched all the runs on a big screen TV and voted to determine who should win the Big Mountain Pro.
SCOTT international team rider Jeremy Jones not only convinced his fellow riders but actually astounded them with two fluid, fast lines. In the end, he took the top spot in the snowboarding division and was named the overall winner among snowboarders and skiers by a majority of the riders. “It was not my goal to win,” said the American snowboarder. “I came here to have fun and see what happens. To come out on top is an amazing feeling.”
Among the skiers, last year's winner Kaj Zackrisson (Sweden) proved his skills once again, taking first ahead of Aurelien Ducroz (France), who was second. SCOTT international teamrider Phil Meier from Switzerland finished a respectable third place.
