Scott skiers Battersby, Peters to compete in All Stars event

Adam Battersby and Tosh Peters of Park City, Utah have been invited to compete in the first-ever Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Search All-Stars competition in January at Keystone Resort, Colorado, where NBC Sports will film the skiing and snowboarding action as the lead-in show for the network’s Winter Olympics coverage. Battersby and Peters, both 15-year-old skiers at the Winter Sports School in Park City, won honors in 2004 as two of North America’s best ski athletes and were named to the Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Team representing The Canyons Resort. Next Snow Search is an annual season-long, national talent search to find young athletes who best represent the next generation of skiers and snowboarders. The 2006 “All-Stars” event will bring together the elite members of the 2004 and 2005 Next Snow teams for two days of competition at Colorado’s Keystone Resort, host of the past two Next Snow Search Finals. On Jan. 27 and 28, 2006, the best of the best will compete in an all-around test of skill for the honor of being named to the first-ever Sports Illustrated For Kids “All-Stars Team.” A one-hour show featuring the “All-Stars” will air on NBC Sports on Saturday, February 11 (2-3 p.m. EST), the first day of competition of the Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy.
