Adam Kovacs: Treviso Marathon marks the start of plan to achieve a 2013 Marathon PB

11 March 2013
SCOTT runner Adam Kovacs chose the Treviso marathon in Italy as a test in his preparation to run a PB at the marathon distance this year. Adam chose Treviso as he felt the course offered him a great chance of achieving his target time of sub-2hrs 20m. Unfortunately, although his training had gone very well in the lead up to the event, Adam succumbed to a cold a few days before. In spite of this setback, Adam still managed to finish 2nd overall in a time of 2hrs 23m. Whilst not achieving the time he would have liked, Adam was happy to have been able to run the race he had trained so hard for.
Adam now plans to concentrate on road and track running for the next few months, culminating in achieving a new marathon personal best of sub-2hrs 17m. For the second half of the year, he will focus on trail and mountain running and plans to compete at a variety races across Europe.

The official results of the Treviso Marathon are as follows:
Men
1. Said BOUDALIA ITA 2:20:38
2. Adam KOVACS HUN 2:23:34
3. Simone GOBBO ITA 2:27:38
