Two podiums at the Freeride World Tour in Fieberbrunn

08 February 2014

Last Monday, February 3, 2014, the third stop of the Freeride World Tour took place in Austria. Because of dangerous snow conditions and the risk of avalanches being too high the contest took place in Kappl, Tyrol instead of Fieberbrunn Kitzbuheler Alps.

Despite the change in location the competition was still a successful one. The SCOTT Freeride team took two podiums on this third stop. Richard Amacker from Switzerland had a very strong and gnarly run which included several huge drops.

In the end Amacker finished 3rd.

Stefan Häusl another SCOTT team rider was sitting in 6th place and showed once again another strong performance in Kappl, Tyrol. In the overall FWT ranking Stefan is in 4th place.

After three successful FWT stops the overall leader of the FWT rankings is still the new SCOTT team rider Loïc Collomb-Patton.

Not only was this third stop successful for the SCOTT Men’s Freeride team, but also for our women’s freeride team. Lorraine Huber from Austria continued to dominate the field and finished 3rd in Kappl and moved up to 2nd in the overall FWT rankings with just 40 points behind the leader!

After three stops so far in the FWT the SCOTT Freeride Team has put on some great performances and the overall rankings prove that. The Freeride World Tour will kick off again for the second half on USA soil in Snowbird, Utah Saturday March 1, 2014.
