What is your Triathlon background? When and why did you start?
I started swimming when I was 5 years old. At the age of 11, I started to participate in local kids races. However, I wasn’t fast enough to make the podium in short distance swimming races of 50m and 100m. A couple of years later, at the age of 13 I competed in a race which consisted of a 200m swim and an 800m run. To my own surprise, I won the race and noted that longer races might suit my abilities better than short ones. A few months after that, I did my first triathlon which I also won. From then on, I just kept growing in the sport of Triathlon.

What was your reason for picking Triathlon?
My first triathlon was a great experience, keeping me excited and motivated to keep training and improving.

What’s your favorite part about riding for Scott?
SCOTT bikes have it all: they are light, stiff and fast, very fast. It’s simply great to ride on these bikes, no matter what kind of course you need to tackle.

What are your future goals?
I want to qualify and represent Brazil in my third Olympic games which will take place in my home country.

What keeps you going during the off season, if you ever have an off season?
I never do a full stop during the off season. However, when I don’t have a race coming up, I like to do more cross country and trail running.

What are your favorite Triathlons - where are we going to find you training most often?
I love to race in Pucon – Chile. The race course is super tough but also very beautiful and it’s nice to spend a few days in the town of Pucon. In Brazil I live and train in São Carlos. During the summer in Europe you will find me most of the time in St Moritz, Switzerland.

What inspires you to keep going each season?
The challenge to train hard and improve every day.

What music do you listen to when training or before a race?
At the moment I’m mostly listening to Coldplay.Do you have a favorite pre-race food?Pasta Bolognese is my favorite.

Do you have any funny habits that you have to do before you race?
I always try to relax and watch a new movie in the afternoon before the race.

When your season is over what is the food you have to have?
I really love to eat a Brazilian dish that is called “Feijoada”. It’s black beans and pork served with steamed rice.
