Hi ! My name is Jens schuermans and within our team Scott Creuse Oxygène, I’m known as the Belgian ! Since 2014, at the age of 20, I became a professional mountainbiker. After a difficult first year lost due to injuries, I became a real professional since 2015 with my first major goal to qualify for the Olympic Games in 2016. I succeeded in my goal and since then my level increased year by year ! By now I’m a three time national champion, I reached my first world cup podium and am preparing for my second Olympic Games in Japan where my goal will be a olympic diploma, which means a top 8. If I succeed, this will by my third diploma as I combined my life as a professonal athlete with studying for marketing and communication, where I achieved my bachelor degree in the end of 2018, and studying for sports coach, a degree I achieved in 2019. Next to sports, my field of interest is quit expanded I would say. I like to read a lot of books and learn more about nutrition in my free time or while travelling to races or training camps. When I’m at home, I try to spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. As very social people, we try to connect a lot with our friends and family over food, another passion of mine. The very few weeks a year where I’m not following a training plan, we try to discover our beautiful planet little by little togehter.
