Athlete talk

How and when did you start skiing, how has it evolved ever since and what got you into skiing/mountaineering?

As far as I can remember I always skied. I try competition very early but never with real pleasure. I had always more pleasure in deep snow and naturally I evolve to free-ride with snowboard or Skis and steep ski with friends. The mountain character of steep ski motivated me for some years and now I go more in the free-ride and exploration direction.

Who were/are your idols on and off the hill?

I don`t have that many idols, but Jean-Marc Boivin or Marco Siffredi are very impressive with their achievements.

What does skiing/mountaineering mean to you personally?

I am always exploring the mountains with skis, so for me mountaineering, skiing, climbing are the biggest passions in my life.

What were your 3 biggest accomplishments on hill and why?

First I think it is when we were skiing the north face all the way from the top of Pigne d’arolla, the conditions were amazing! Also skiing the Couturier in aiguille verte or Ober Gabelhorn north face, it is a very elegant climb, fast and fun. West Face of Eiger with skis were also great, since it was the completion of the 4 face ascent of Eiger (sud, North, mitteleggi and west) which I did with my girlfriend Nacéra during 2 years.

What aspect the mountains thrills you the most?

The feeling of freedom, absolute engagement and inexhaustible project possibilities.

In what conditions and what terrain do enjoy riding the most?

I like steep but also the deep snow in the forest. Playing in this element gives me great sensations and happiness.

Any activities that aren’t ski related?

All activities outdoor, but first of all climbing, bouldering, ice climbing, mountaineering, VTT.

How do you manage to combine family/ friends and job?

Like always in life, finding priority and balance takes a lot of effort and concessions. My formula is sharing.
