Alistair Brownlee wins his First Race on SCOTT

He might be a two-time Olympic gold medalist, but when it comes to half-distance racing, Alistair Brownlee's potential is still to be fully discovered. After just moving to SCOTT Sports a few days ago his performance in Grand Canaria on Saturdayleaves little doubt as to just how fast Brownlee can be - he finished eight-minutes ahead of Pieter Heemeryck (BEL), besting the old course record by over 10 minutes with his 4:03:09 finish.

Brownlee showed no weaknesses in the race - he was at the front in the water, then ripped up the bike course on his Plasma (2:13:24) to a six-minute lead. He finished things off with the fastest half-marathon (1:11:16).
