Cam Jones' Wild Ride: The Underdog Who Dared to Dream

11 November 2025

Cameron Jones has come a long way this season. He started his year battling for a spot in the Life Time Grand Prix and ended it powering his way to the overall championship win. From the dusty singletrack of Monterey to the rain-soaked roads of Bentonville, Arkansas, Cam battled through it all and came out the other side living a dream come true.

“I was pretty confident applying for the 2025 Grand Prix. I think non-selection really got me fired up and left me with a point to prove.”
—Cameron Jones, ahead of 2025 Sea Otter Classic

Watch the final episode of Hunt for the Wildcard and learn what makes Cam the athlete and competitor he is. Go behind the scenes of the final two races and revisit a career-defining year. And don’t forget to check out the first two episodes to see where it all started.

Episode 1

See how it all began eight months ago in Episode 1, when Cam arrived from New Zealand with just a few days to prepare for the season opener at the Sea Otter Classic.

“I am still waiting for the breakthrough race where everything goes right, and when it does, I know I have the legs to get on the podium.”
—Cameron Jones, heading into Unbound after Sea Otter Classic

Episode 2

Relive Cam’s record-breaking Unbound race in Hunt for the Wildcard Ep. 2.

"I think the safest option would be to just sit in and keep trying to make the splits of the main group. It’s probably going to come back together in the end, and saying all that, I do like a bit of danger; I would not put it past myself to do something silly.”
—Cameron Jones, in the lead up to Unbound

Leadville Set the stage for the Overall

Cam took on new challenges like Leadville, where, despite being a bigger rider, he climbed with the best and secured 9th among the Grand Prix racers, even with a few mishaps. He’s more than ready to take on the best at Leadville in the years ahead.

Chequamegon Solidified the Dream

At Chequamegon, Cam swapped his Scale RC for the full-suspension Spark RC and made it into the final sprint, shoulder to shoulder with some of the best racers in the world, finishing 6th. Heading into the final two races of the season, he had only an outside chance of taking the overall title, but that only motivated him more. Episode 3 shows how it all unfolded.

The Sugars Sealed the Deal

Arkansas proved to be the icing on the cake for Cam with a huge solo win at Little Sugar and massive rain-soaked sprint for 5th at Big Sugar.

Eyes on 2026

It has been an incredible year, and we can't wait to see what 2026 holds for Cam Jones. Give him a follow and cheer on the champ—because you know he’ll be cheering for everyone out there throwing a leg over the bike and riding for the love of the sport.

“I don’t think that anywhere along the way, until the last couple days did I ever feel like winning the Grand Prix was a goal. I came the U.S. to just try not to work a day job.”
—Cameron Jones, looking back on his GP win
