Rain in Seattle and Podiums in GNCC

22 四月 2013

Centurylink Stadium in Seattle, Washington was host to the 15th round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series last weekend.  Track builders had their work cut out for them, as heavy rains blanketed the freshly built track for days.  Luckily for race fans, the rain subsided to a trickle and track conditions held up over the course of the day.

450SX Class

Andrew Short

SCOTT athlete Andrew Short had to put his head down and work in Seattle, as a small mistake in his heat race prevented him from finishing in qualifying position.  Short bounced back in the 450SX LCQ and took the win, qualifying him for the main.  In the 450SX main event, Short rode consistently and finished inside the top ten in 9th.  Short maintains 7th in the point standings.

Phillip Nicoletti

Phillip Nicoletti has been quietly having a gooid season.  Nicoletti qualified for the main event with a 9th in the second 450SX heat race.  In the main, Nicoletti finished 10th overall and continues to show that he has what it takes to run with the top.

Trey Canard

SCOTT goggle athlete Trey Canard looked solid in Seattle and took 3rd in the first 450SX heat race.  In the 450SX main event, Trey was running inside the top 5 but fell victim to a deteriorating track as he crossrutted late in the race and went down hard.  Trey was credited with 18th on the night.

250SX West Coast Class

Tyla Rattray

The 250SX West Coast series continued in Seattle after taking a 7 week hiatus while the East Coast series was underway.  SCOTT goggle athlete Tyla Rattray was eager to get back to the track and took 3rd in the second 250SX qualifying heat race.  Tyla battled through the rain in the 250SX main event and finished 5th.

Martin Davalos

SCOTT goggle athlete Martin Davalos looked great in his return to the track.  Davalos won his first 250SX heat race and managed a 9th place finish in the main.  He now sits 6th in the point standings.

The next round of Supercross takes place on April 27th in Salt Lake City, UT.

Kailub Russell

Kailub Russell was a threat for the win all day but would have to settle for 2nd overall after being passed late in the race by teammate Mullins.
