Saint-Tropez, France was the back drop for the first ever SCOTT-Velosolutions team camp and marked a turning point in the future of SCOTT – Sports Elite Downhill Race Team.
Brendan Fairclough has been a long standing team rider and 2017 sees him joined by Junior World #2 and 2017 Elite Men rookie Gaetan Vigé. The duo embarked on an all-out attack of the steeps of the French coastal town, putting the SCOTT Gambler through its paces.
The coming together of Vigé and Fairclough pitches the eager excitement of the young up and comer against the formidable style and track craft of Fairclough. As soon as they were riding together the team mates gelled and their riding did the talking. Gaetan Vigé was clearly grateful for the opportunity to join the team alongside a rider he has looked up to throughout his junior career. For Brendan he was excited to see Vigé attack the trail and not hold back, both equally impressed with each other, the stoke was high throughout the entire camp.
3 days in Saint-Tropez was enough to know that the 2017 SCOTT-Velosolutions team has entered a new era and with that it is set to shake things up to no end this season.
"It’s rare that you put two riders together and they gel so quickly. Taking a step back and hearing Brendan stoked as Gaetan ripped a turn was rad. You could see he was impressed with his riding and the way he handled a bike. Vigé was smiles all day long getting ride with Brendog and to have him as new team mate. SCOTT-Velosolutions has arrived and it’s a killer pairing. Bring on Lourdes!"

"This year could really be a special one for the team on the World Cup Circuit. Getting some young blood into the team will only be good for pushing Brendan, and vice versa. Gaëtan will really be able to learn and grow via Brendan’s guidance, which is essential at this point in his relatively young career. All of us at SCOTT are looking forward to see where these two take this season."
