Podium for Desalle and Tixier

The Motocross World Championship visited Sweden this weekend, and as always it’s at Uddevalla, 80 km north of Goteborg that the series stopped. Clement Desalle in the MX1 class and Jordi Tixier in the MX2 category both scored a third position and secured their position in the standings.

The bad weather ruined the track on Saturday for the qualifications, but the sun was back on Sunday and the track was well prepared by the organisers.

After his heat win two weeks ago in Italy, Belgian Clement Desalle (Suzuki) posted two strong races to come back on the podium in third position behind the KTM pair of Cairoli and De Dycker. "In the first moto I struggled to find my lines and it was a difficult time, I made some mistakes and it was only in the last 15 minutes that I could really step-it-up. Unfortunately I lost a lot of time in one corner because of lapped riders, so it was not the best moto for me. Second one...my start was not great but I came back to fourth quickly and spent the whole race behind Searle. It was a little bit frustrating and I don't have the best feeling about this GP. It is good to be on the podium but I expected more and want to do better in the next GP," said Clement.

Sixth and then third of the races, Tommy Searle (Kawasaki) was fourth of the GP but he got a penalty of ten positions after the second race, as he jumped while the yellow flag was on.

In the MX2 class World Championship leader Jeffrey Herlings crashed at the start and just equalled Christophe Charlier to get his tenth GP win so far. With a fourth and a second place Jordi Tixier was back on the podium alongside his teammate and his countryman. “It was a good weekend for me. I got two good starts but in the opening moto I didn’t feel so good for the first 15 minutes and I had a gap to Charlier and Nicholls. Then Jeffrey passed me in the last lap. In the second moto I almost got the holeshot but I pulled the break a bit too early. I had a good flight with Butron and it was good to be back on the podium,” confirmed the Frenchman who is a strong runner-up in the series
