GP OF ITALY MOTOCROSS

12 September 2011
Source from Pascal Haudiquert Paulin was the leader of a Scott invasion, as Christophe Pourcel and Jonathan Barragan were also on the MX1 podium! Thanks to Michele Rinaldi boss of the Yamaha factory team, Gautier had the possibility to ride the bike of Steven Frossard, who wasn’t able to enter this final round of the series. Practicing on this bike since several weeks to prepare the Motocross of Nations, Gautier shows his ability by winning the qualifying heat on Saturday and later the opening race of the GP. Second of the following race behind Christophe Pourcel, Gautier won the GP and will be next week a strong member of the French team for the Nations.” For sure I am really happy and I didn’t really know what I could expect for my first MX1 GP. In the first race I made the holeshot and was on my own so I sent my rhythm and just rode out the moto. In the second it was really good fun to race with Christophe and we passed each other but the track was getting harder and harder with more bumps; normally it is smoother for the MX2 motos. It was my first race on the 450 and I knew I was winning the grand prix so I did not want to go crazy. I was riding safe. With Monster Energy Yamaha we did something special today” he said. Winner of the first MX2 race, Tommy Searle battled during the second heat with Jeffrey Herlings for the overall win; with similar results – a win and second place for each – Herlings who won the second heat got his fourth GP win of the season. Searle finished in second position, followed by his teammate Max Anstie – who got his first GP podium -; Arnaud Tonus and Nicolas Aubin did their best performance of the season for the last MX2 GP of their career.
