Source from http://www.sportdimontagna.com Marco De Gasperi wins the vertical race in Anboto/Spain: The italian athlete completed the 3.8km with 1.100m climb in 37'14mn, thus establishing a new race record in this competition. Marco maintained a hard battle against Urban Zemmer, Nicola Galinelli and Luis Alberto Hernando, the recent winner of the World Skyrunning Series. "I am more than happy with this victory" said Marco De Gasperi, who reduced the former race record by almost 90 seconds, signed by the french champion in mountain running Didier Zago. After this fantastic victory Marco seems to be well prepared for "the world's toughest mountain race", the Kinabalu Climbathon in Malaysia on october 22. For that race Marco will not only compete against the worldbest skyrunners, his fellow and UTMB-winner Kilian Jornet also announced his participation.
