Sierre-Zinal 2019 – Broken records

14 August 2019

Sierre/Switzerland -The 46th edition of the race was held on the exact same 31k route as it was first designed. This is one of the reasons so many elite and recreational runners keep coming back.

"You chase a time, not a place" explains Ruth Croft, who was coming back to have a 4th crack at the race.

The new Kinabalu RC 2.0  proved to deliver at high speed and around corners when the New Zealand runner gave it all to outsprint french athlete Anais Sabrie to take 4th. Same position as last year, but with a time over a minute faster!

A great day for the SCOTT Running athlete, who with her 4th place remains the current leader of the Golden Trails World Series.

On the men's side, Swiss athlete Stephan Wenk once again carried high the black and yellow colors finishing in an outstanding time of 2h38'21" taking 13th place overall and improving his personal best by 30". Placing 3rd Swiss runner, Wenk also punched his ticket to represent his country at the World's mountain running championships in Patagonia this coming November.

Stay tuned for more as the month of August will be stacked with news from SCOTT.
