Athlete talk

How and when did you start skiing, how has it evolved ever since and what got you into freeskiing?
I started skiing at 4 years old, first only alpine and then I started with skitouring with 12. When I got mountain guide certified in 1997 I did a lot of snowboard touring with clients. Thanks to the better and wider skis my guests changed back to skiing and now I always do my work with skis.

Who were/are your idols on and off the hill?
My women (mother, daughter and girlfriend)

What does skiing mean to you personally?
The possibility to go to an untouched area and to find a beautiful way up and down.
Or a fast approach to a big ice fall.

What were your 3 biggest accomplishments on hill and why?
For me it is always an accomplishment if I am back in the valley with my guests, everybody healthy and happy after an exciting tour.

What aspect of skiing thrills you the most?
As the conditions are always changing, to find the best possible line.

In what conditions and what terrain do enjoy riding the most?
"Après-ski" in the sun :-)!

Any activities that aren’t ski related?

How do you manage to combine family/ friends and job?
All in the family have a lot of ideas and wishes and then we bargain in best oriental market style.
