Julian Dean

Year of birth: 1975
Height: 178 cm
Weight: 72 Kg
Hometown: Waihi, New Zealand

One of New Zealand’s most decorated cyclists, Julian Dean is also regarded as one of the world’s best lead out man, having plied his trade for Slipstream Sports in service of Tyler Farrar over the past few seasons.

He’s ready to help GreenEDGE’s sprinters in their quest for victory and to pass on valuable experience gained through many grand tour campaigns and a career that spans over 10 years. “I think I have something still to offer and believe over the last two to three years especially, I have raced at my best.”

The soft-spoken New Zealander will form an integral part of the squad as it aims to quickly gel into one of the world’s best sprinting teams. There’s also a personal goal for Dean as he enters the twilight of his career.

Riders's Talk

"There are plenty of incentives next year with this new team wanting to make a mark and I would also love to compete in my fifth Olympics – that would be special."
