A helmet that saved my life

Everything happened in a split second. I remember breaking hard, ramming my head straight into a parked truck's bonnet, and tumbling over.

It was early morning 6.00 AM, I had completed 80km of my off-road ride when I entered a cross junction and suddenly a traveller truck hit on the right side of my bike. The collision was hard and I rammed into the bonnet of the truck, straight into my head.

I was conscious and could hear people around me murmuring how lucky I am to have ZERO head injuries due to my helmet. The impact was so strong that the bonnet had a huge dent, and the helmet had a small crack, but the SCOTT MIPS and Conehead technology is the reason why I'm still alive with minimal injuries. Later the doctor who treated me also confirmed that I was saved only due to the helmet.

This has been a life-changing experience for me. Earlier I wasn't entirely serious about the need for top-quality and safe technology for riding gear. This incident has been an eye-opener for me, and I'd not want to compromise on any equipment and gear in future. Infact, I’d urge everyone to do so as well. I've shared my ride experience through my YouTube channel and have received a great response with 2.5lac+ views, which helps me continue pursuing my passion and spread awareness on safety while riding.

I'm Solomon, an avid off-road rider, a private banker, coming from the most beautiful places in India, commonly known as God's own country, Kerala. I've been blessed with hidden landscapes and off-road climbs, enjoying my passion to the fullest.

It all started when I got gifted a bicycle in my younger days, and I started riding in the hills of Idukki, my hometown. That instilled a passion for adventure, travel and exploring newer places. Soon I got myself a Duke and took off on my first off-road adventure to the hills of Idukki. Being a road bike, I got many flak and warnings from my friends of the risks involved, but I was determined.

Once I successfully completed this ride, there was no stopping, and I started exploring quite a few hill stations in and around Kerala. Most of them were not popular. And that's when I decided to start my YouTube channel to get more like-minded people and explore these hidden treasures together.
