A day as a ski patroller in Chamonix - Meet Clément du Brévent

06 2월 2026

High above the valley, long before the lifts start turning, Clément and his team are already at work. A close-knit crew, almost a family, where everyone knows they can rely on one another.

Each day begins with the same ritual: reading the mountain. Studying the snowpack, the wind, the subtle signs invisible to most skiers. Decisions are made together, over a coffee and a map of the area. Up here, trust is everything. In the mountains, no one ever works alone.

On February 10th, as we celebrate International Ski Patrol Day, we wanted to shine a light on these dedicated, discreet, and deeply human teams. Because before they are ski patrollers, they are a family. And together, they help make the mountain safer for all of us.

Securing the slopes, triggering preventive avalanches, marking hazards, anticipating what might come next. Then come the interventions. A fall, a call for help, sometimes a real emergency. In those moments, teamwork makes all the difference. A glance is enough. A move is understood. Everyone knows the others have their back.

Season after season, strong bonds are forged. These women and men share far more than a workplace: they share the mountain, its risks, its rewards, and its silence. This sense of solidarity, built in cold, wind, and altitude, is one of their greatest strengths.

SCOTT x Compagnie du Mont-Blanc

Across the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley, more than 90 ski patrollers watch over La Flégère, Le Brévent, Le Tour–Balme, Les Grands Montets, Les Houches, and the iconic Aiguille du Midi. For more than 25 years, SCOTT has been proud to stand alongside them as the Official Safety Partner of the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, supporting teams that operate like a true mountain family.
