Athlete talk

When and how did you start mountain biking?

In the summer of 2010, the school organized a vacation pass where VC Hägglingen offered a trial training session. I really enjoyed the training and joined the club straight away. A year later, I started racing.

Who was/are your idols on the trails?

Nino Schurter, the playful way he rides in the technical parts has fascinated me ever since I first saw him at the 2013 World Championships on the Gurten.

What does mountain biking mean to you personally?

Variety. Biking is extremely diverse and offers something of everything. It is a mixture of all types of cycling and can be ridden in all landscapes and in all weathers.

What excites you most about biking?

The combination of many things, in biking you not only have to be physically strong, but also technically and mentally strong. You can do it anywhere and it doesn't take much.

How do you combine family/friends and your job?

At the moment, I'm still in the Sportkanti and have a lot of time for my sport. With my brother, I still have a good training partner and always something to talk about as he is also an enthusiastic mountain biker.

What does "No Shortcuts" mean to you?

For me, "No Shortcuts" means that there are no shortcuts in life. To be successful, you have to find your own right path and not think that shortcuts will make it faster.
