Looking for a change of scene and an escape from winter’s cold grip, we link up with gravel guru Yuri Hauswald and head to the US desert southwest, looking for the ghost town of Ruby, Arizona. With few paved roads, abundant sunshine, and the occasional historical destination, this region is a gravel rider’s dream. 

Founded in the early 1900s as a mining town, Ruby, Arizona was a classic outpost in the American wild west. But 100 years later, it’s a shadow of its former self. No matter- the ride to get there is as good as it gets.
