The New Fast
PLASMA 6

CUTTING-EDGE AERODYNAMICS, A HUGE RANGE OF POSITIONS AND FULL INTEGRATION MAKE THE PLASMA 6 THE BEST WEAPON TO STRIVE FOR KONA GLORY.

We had one goal in mind when we started this project 4 years ago: to simply build the fastest bike the triathlon world has ever seen. To develop the bike you want to have when you strive for Kona glory or want to smash your previous bike split records. To make this possible, our engineers came up with completely new ways to look at aerodynamics, cockpit adjustability and storage integration.

The bike is specifically developed for the needs of triathletes and, unlike the Plasma 5, is not UCI compliant.

Aero Features

A moving rider has a substantial influence on the airflow around the bike and, ultimately, on the aerodynamic performance. Despite the extra effort required to examine this complex phenomenon, the airflow of the moving rider was considered from day 1 to make the Plasma 6 the fastest triathlon bike in real-life conditions.

Down tube position

Down tube position

The most aerodynamically optimized position of the down tube would be directly behind the front tire, but the slightest of movements in the front wheel would already create strong turbulence and significantly increase the drag. Extensive testing revealed that the second-fastest position is to have a significant gap between the front tire and the down tube, which makes it the fastest one in real-life conditions.

Back wheel adjustability

The same goes for the back wheel. The closer the tire is to the seat tube, the more aero it is. In contrast to the front end, the back wheel is always aligned with the seat tube. To give every rider the chance to ride the most aerodynamic position no matter the wheel or tire choice, you have 6 different wheel mount positions.

Storage Integration

The Plasma 5 was ahead of its competitors when it came to storage integration. The new Plasma 6 reaches an even higher level. Hydration, nutrition and storage integration have been considered as a cornerstone of the design from day one. Hydration and nutrition systems are integrated into the frame and cockpit, allowing the rider to drink and eat without leaving the aero position and making it easier to refill on the fly. The storage box and seatpost are designed to work together as a unique airfoil, while also allowing you to transport spare parts. Rider and bike become one system, working together to generate more speed.

Adjustability

Both the pedaling efficiency and aerodynamic performance hugely depend on the riding position of the rider. Our Syncros engineers focused on creating a complete system of base bars, extensions and saddle positioning to allow for a huge range of adjustability, perfectly matching the unique needs of each rider, from Sebastian Kienle racing Ironman Kona to age groupers facing their first 70.3.

Works for every rider

Works for every rider

The goal was to have a bike that works for every rider – from Kona winners to weekend warriors. 99.9% of riders should be able to find their perfect position. This was confirmed by leading German bike fitter, gebioMized, who analyzed the positions available and compared them to their extensive rider database.

Traveling

The new Plasma 6 is an easy traveler. To get it safely to the next race, you can remove the cockpit in one piece and fit it into any bike travel bag.

Geometry

The Plasma uses a race geometry that meets the requirements of both our professional riders and sportive customers.

Syncros Belcarra Tri

Belcarra TRI

Syncros developed the Belcarra TRI with bio-mechanical experts, gebioMized, to provide a scientific package for the triathlon rider. The result is a solution focused on a marriage of bio-mechanical efficiency, comfort and stability in an aerodynamic package. Raced by Sebastian Kienle and Alistair Brownlee at the highest level.

Quotes

Sebastian Kienle

“For me, it was love at first ride. The Plasma 5 has been the fastest bike in the transition areas since 2014 and improving on that can't have been easy. The Plasma 6 is made for the needs of triathletes, with no compromises when it comes to nutrition or storage. Being able to stay on the aero bars during fueling makes the system even faster. What’s more, it‘s easier to travel with, it has a huge range of adjustment, it brakes far better and it‘s stiffer. In short, yes it is faster!!!"

- Sebastian Kienle, Ironman World Champion
