Mădălina Florea Starts Strong with 2nd at Ledro Sky Trentino
Mădălina Florea is back—and already back on the podium
At the Ledro Sky Trentino, the second stop of the 2026 Golden Trail World Series, the SCOTT athlete opened her season with a strong second-place finish on one of the most technical and demanding courses on the circuit. Returning to the same location where she secured the overall title last year, Florea showed she’s ready to fight for it all again.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Valle di Ledro, the 21.5km course, with 1,777 meters of elevation - once again delivered a true test of mountain running. Steep, relentless climbs, exposed ridge lines and fast descents made for a race that rewards both strength and control. Add to that rising heat and humidity throughout the morning, and conditions quickly became even more demanding for the world’s best trail runners.

From the gun, Florea ran a smart and measured race. Positioning herself well on the opening climb out of Pieve di Ledro, she moved into second place early and stayed composed as the course climbed towards Bocca Saval. From there, she maintained a steady rhythm across the iconic Senter de le Greste ridgelines—one of the most spectacular and technical sections of the race—before holding her position all the way to the finish.
Crossing the line in 2:17:52, she secured a confident second place behind Caroline Kimutai.
“I focused on staying controlled and running my own race today. I approached it a little differently, making sure I could feel strong towards the end, and I’m really happy with how it came together. I especially enjoyed the final part of the race and the atmosphere. Big thanks to the SCOTT family for the support and for always having my back!”
