What is your Triathlon background? When and why did you start?
I did my first triathlon at 8 years old I'm a field in Nottingham. I was always competitive at swimming and running events. My uncle was doing triathlons at the time and I think I got the idea from him.
I would have to say Leeds WTS. Simply the best crowd in the world. But I've been lucky enough to rave at a home Olympics and I'm not sure anything will beat that.
Favorite training destination?
Yorkshire! But apart from home, St Moritz in Switzerland.
What would you be doing today had you not become a pro triathlete?
I'd probably be a doctor because I started my studies before I decided to concentrate on sport.
What kind of advice would you give to someone who wants to do their first triathlon?
Train consistently in the lead up to it, make sure you've tried all your kit (even SCOTT!) before and enjoy it.
What is your biggest weakness and what is your biggest strength?
Both are the same thing. Not having an off switch to stop me pushing too hard
Top speed ever during training?
I've done over 100kmph on a decent in Spain.
Three of the best ways to kill time? 1. Reading 2. Failing to play the guitar 3. Bike mechanics
Top 3 artists on your iPod?
Oasis, Kygo, FatBoy Slim
What other sports do you like to follow?
Everything but especially cycling and athletics. I love to watch rugby league and cricket when I am at home.
Who was your idol when you were young?
I didn't really have one. The people that made a real difference to my career as a young lad were the people who coached/advised/helped me to do the sport I loved.
What is your favorite food?
Steak and Gravy
Mountains, beach or city trip for vacations?
3 words that best describe SCOTT:
Fast, Stiff, Brilliant
