Compared to its predecessor, the wind-tunnel testing and analysis of the helmet provided us with some interesting results.
22% less drag in 15 degree cross winds
5.2% less drag coefficient
10% reduction in volume
Translating these numbers into Watt savings, gives a 1 Watt saving at a speed of 43km/hr. Regarding time savings, this would give a 10 second time saving at 43km/hr over a 40km stage.
The inclusion of the front vent plugs gives a 2 Watt saving at a speed of 40km/hr. Translating this data into time savings would give a 16 second saving over 40km at 40km/hr. These plugs are SCOTT's first Swiss mass production 3D printed products, which gives them their unique color.
