Dorian Coninx wins U23 World Championships

01 September 2014
The young SCOTT athlete put the pressure on his competitors early on during the 1.5 kilometer swim. Together with the American Kanute, Coninx entered T2 ahead of the first group. During the 40 kilometer bike leg, the young Frenchman stayed safe. On the run, Coninx was amongst a group of five athletes that was able to open a gap in the first 5 kilometers. Then Coninx took over the lead and pulled away from second and third place finishers Austin and Benson from Great Britian. With the fastest run of the day, Coninx secured the World Champion title in a total time of 1:53:06. Not even 12 months after his victory in the Junior ranks, Coninx proved that he has the power to win over the double distance against older and more experienced competitors.
