Kaye and Swallow on the podium in Hy-Vee

01 September 2014
The top three finishers dominated the women's race from the very beginning. While Jodie Swallow led the field into T2 together with the eventual winner Helle Frederiksen from Denmark, Kaye came out of the water one minute down. On the bike, Kaye used her strong cycling skills to put in the fastest bike split of the women's field on her SCOTT Plasma taking the lead. During the run, Kaye and Swallow couldn't quite match the high pace of the Danish Olympian Frederiksen but crossed the finish line well ahead of the following contenders. While Kaye will continue her season with non-drafting races over the Olympic distance, Swallow is amongst the favorites for the upcoming 70.3 World Championships in Mont Tremblant (CAN) and the IM World Championships in Hawaii.
