COLORS OF CHAMPIONS
Round one of the UCI Cross-Country World Cup kicks off at the ever popular Nové Město track in the Czech Republic. This will be the fifth consecutive year that the World Cup has been hosted by the Czech destination and will be a dress rehearsal for the 2016 Cross-Country World Championships, also at this venue. Nove Mesto will be the first hard test for SCOTT-Odlo MTB Racing in the pre-Olympic season, followed by the World Cup in Albstadt, Germany the following weekend. Both Jenny Rissveds and Nino Schurter have won races recently and they look ready to go. U23 World Champion Michiel van der Heijden is keen to show his skills and what to expect from him now in the Elite class.
Since the launch of SCOTT`s MTB pro team in 2002, Thomas Frischknecht`s riders have enjoyed racing on the most modern race bikes available. Individual design have always been one of the major objectives of our R&D team. Providing Nino Schurter and Co. not only the lightest and stiffest rigs, but also making sure that those rigs were appealing has always been on our priority list. All of the SCOTT-Odlo riders have custom graphics and their names on their Spark 700 RC and Scale 700 RC frames - all in a limited-edition Scott-Odlo color scheme. The flag graphics really pop out on the black and yellow RC frame.
The cockpit and the grips are by Ritchey. The team rides the Ritchey WCS True Grip grips.
Nino races on a DT Swiss OPM LTD Team Edition 27 fork. It has ODL (open, lock and drive) technology and offers 100mm of travel.
The team races with SRAM XX1. The super light SCOTT chain guide prevents the chain from dropping from the front chainring.
The rear cassette is a 10-42 (paired to a 36-tooth single chainring). Thanks to the SCOTT IDS / SL Dropout System and a SCOTT Team edition rear derailleur hanger, wheel changes can be made quickly and easily.
Nino rides his Spark with Dugast 50mm tires on DT Swiss wheels with 1.65 bars (23.9 psi) in the front and 1.7 bars (24.65 psi) in the back.
To achieve his desired position, Nino runs a minus-17-degree Ritchey WCS C220 stem. Ritchey's lightest carbon post, the WCS Superlogic, is equipped with Ritchey's proprietary Vector Evo saddle rail system, and Nino goes with the WCS Vector Evo Stream saddle.
Both the SCOTT Scale 700 RC's and Spark 700 RC's HMX Carbon Fiber Frame are some of the lightest frames on the market.
Nino Schurter`s Spark 700 RC weighs in at only 9.1 kg, while Michiel van der Heijden`s an dJenny Rissveds`s Scale 700 RC come in at 8.1kg.
