MOTOCROSS GP OF FRANCE

11 June 2013

Another podium for Desalle
After two weeks break the Motocross World Championship was back to action this weekend with the 8th round of the series organized in France. It was a huge popular success, and the racing was one of the best so far with intense battles between Herlings and Ferrandis in the MX2 class, and between Cairoli and Paulin in the main class.

 Desalle

Just coming back from two races in the US championship, Clement Desalle had no time to rest and had to recover from travelling and the traditional jetlag when he arrived in Ernée. Clement was faster every day, and ended the event on the podium for the sixth time this season. "I had two consistent motos and when I saw how I was riding yesterday it is good result! I was so slow yesterday. My starts were better today and the riding also, so that is positive. It is really hard to pass here so the starts were essential because you can lose a big gap. I didn't enjoy the track too much and some important sections needed some work to make it safer and better for us. Overall it was a good weekend. I stayed on two wheels and made the podium and it will be good to get home after some busy weeks,” said Clement who remains third overall.

 SEARLE

Tommy Searle did his best performance so far in the MX1 class, with a third position in the second heat and a fourth overall.
Despite a big crash on Saturday during the qualifying race, Jeffrey Herlings won the MX2 class but didn’t dominates as usual; local hero Dylan Ferrandis did his best ever GP and finished twice second to get the second podium of his career. Fellow countryman Christophe Charlier finished third, while Jordi Tixier who crashed while leading the second heat got a sixth position and consolidates his second position in the standings. The World Championship will now move to Maggiora (Italy) for the ninth round of the series, next weekend.
