SCOTT Moto Athletes Ready for 2013 Winter X-Games

24 January 2013

SCOTT Motosports athletes are getting all the last minute details worked out on the eve of the Winter X-Games which are set to kick off today in Aspen, Colorado.  SCOTT moto athletes will be competing in 3 different snowmobile events throughout the weekend.  Two snowmobile events that were dropped from the 2012 games, Snocross and Speed and Style, will return to the 2013 lineup, rejoining the Snowmobile Freestyle event.

Daniel Bodin

Kicking off the competition on Thursday night is the Snowmobile Freestyle final.  SCOTT athlete Daniel Bodin will be competing in this event as well as the Snowmobile Speed and Style competition on Saturday night.  Bodin, who hails from Malung, Sweden, has been competing Winter X since 1999.  With 2 gold medals and a silver medal under his belt, Bodin is definitely a podium threat this weekend.  Keep an eye out for Daniel, who will be sporting new 2014 SCOTT snowmobile gear.

Renaud Alexandre

Peter Narsa

Also competing at this year's Winter X-Games are SCOTT/Team Jimmy John's/Boss Racing's snocross athletes, Peter Narsa and Renaud Alexandre, who will both participate in the Snocross feature on January 27th, 2013.  Both riders have had great success in the ISOC snocross series and are hoping this will translate into podiums at this year's Winter X-Games.

Paul Bauerly

SCOTT goggle athlete Paul Bauerly of Team Bauerly Racing will also be competing in the snocross competition at this year's Winter X-Games.  Team Bauerly is no stranger to the games, having qualified for the event a total of 10 times in 2 different disciplines and with 4 different riders.  Chad, Kurt, Ross, and Paul Bauerly have all competed at X over the years, with Paul making the most trips ata 5.  The best finish to date came in 2010 when Paul placed 5th overall, something he has his mind set on doing again after getting the invite for this year's competition.

SCOTT athletes and Christian Brothers Racing's Logan Christian, Garth Kaufman and Cory Davis are set to compete in both the Snocross and Speed and Style events.  So far this season, Christian and Kaufman have been competing in the first six rounds of the ISOC National snocross circuit, where Christian currently sits in 6th place in Pro Open points and Kaufman is in 14th.  Davis has been training on his own, perfecting his Speed and Style routine.  All three will be prepared to compete on the slopes of Aspen's Buttermilk Mountain, the scene of Winter X.

Medals, prize money, and worldwide fame are up for grabs as athletes from all over the world come together in Aspen.  ESPN and ABC will combine to televise 20 hours of live X-Games Aspen competition in high definition and on ESPN 3D over the course of the 4 day event.
