First Grand Prix win for Jordi Tixier

Winner of ever GPs he has entered this season, Herlings states, “let the mouse’s play as the cat was not there”. His absence resulted in the most exciting GP of the season! Winner of the first heat, Jordi Tixier secured the overall win during an epic second race, where he placed fourth. “I’ve been waiting for this GP win since I was a kid. Now I did it and it was my goal. I tried not to think about it but it crept into my head and that’s why I didn’t ride so good in the second moto. Now we go to Lommel and there is no pressure on me said a delighted Jordi on the podium. The fastest rider on Saturday in the practice session, and selected by the French team for the Motocross of Nations, Dylan Ferrandis had an exciting weekend; another rider jumped on his bike in race one and ruined his chances, but he got his revenge by placing second the following moto.

In the MXGP class Belgian Jeremy Van Horebeek also secured his first ever MXGP win, beating fellow countryman Kevin Strijbos and reigning World Champion Antonio Cairoli. Steven Frossard finished sixth, while Clement Desalle has been forced to end his season with a broken scaphoid. The next round of the series will take place next weekend in Lommel (Belgium).
