MOTOCROSS GP OF THE NETHERLANDS 2014
GP6 MOTOCROSS: THE NETHERLANDS
Reigning World Champions, Jeffrey Herlings and Antonio Cairoli won the sixth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, organised on the sandy track of Valkenswaard (Netherlands). Jordi Tixier claimed a third place podium finish in the MX2 GP, where three Scott athletes are in the top five of the World Championship.

Leading the MX2 class before the event, Arnaud Tonus lost the red plate, starting his weekend with a crash in the beginning of the opening race. Runner up in the second heat, Arnaud finished the GP in fifth position and is now second in the standings behind Herlings.
“I had a good qualifying race on Saturday, even though I felt tense on the bike. Sunday was different. I slid and crashed in the second corner at the first start; I was back in the top fifteen after one lap, but then another rider hit me in the back and I crashed again, so I was last and it took time to find a good rhythm again. Twelfth was not so bad after two crashes, but I lost many points. In the second moto I conserved some energy, as I knew that the race would be tough, and in the last four laps I passed Dylan and Febvre to finish second. Of course I’m a little bit disappointed to lose the red plate, and there’s still some work to do to be even stronger,” said the Swiss rider.
Third of the GP, Jordi Tixier is now fifth in the series, tight with Dylan Ferrandis, who again finished in the top six of the GP.

Fourth in the MXGP race, missing the podium by a single point, Clement Desalle wasn’t disappointed after the race. “Fourth place is OK because I had such a bad feeling on Saturday. Every time I got on the bike on Sunday I was better, so that was good. Actually I’m satisfied with the result today; the podium would have been better but at least it was Kevin who took it! In the first moto Bobryshev came across me but I got through the first two turns quite well. I was fifth but passed him at the end, which was good. I gave all I had until the end. In the second moto Kevin was riding well and it was difficult to follow him. It was a lonely race” said the Belgian rider who is now third in the standings. Seventh of the GP, Steven Frossard had his best result since the opening round in Qatar.
