Weekend Moto Vision: Washougal

The 8th round of the AMA Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series landed in beautiful Washougal, Washington last weekend.  The picturesque track, situated under a canopy of Imperial pine trees, was the perfect place for fans to watch some amazing race action in both the 250MX and 450MX classes.

250MX Class

Justin Hill

250MX outdoor series rookie Justin Hill has been steadily making gains towards the front of the field.  Showing flahses of speed often throughout the season, it was only a matter of time before the youngster found himself in the top five.  In Washington, Justin had his best race of the season.  In the first moto, Hill got a great start and immediately put himself in the front of the pack, ending up 5th at the checkered flag.  In the second moto, Hill knew he had to get another top ten finish to secure a good overall for the day.  He did just that, earning a 7th, and with 5-7 moto scores he ended up 5th overall.  Hill maintains 12th in the 250MX point standings.

Martin Davalos

Martin Davalos had a solid weekend in Washington after missing the last 3 rounds due to illness. Davalos found himself in the top 10 in each moto and ended the day with 7-9 moto scores, which was good enough for 8th overall on the day.  Martin is 14th in the 250MX class point chase.

Adam Cianciarulo

Adam Cianciarulo also had a great day at Washougal, earning his best moto finish of the season with a 6th in moto one.  In moto two, Adam had to battle through the field and crossed the finish line in 16th.  Adam earned 10th overall and maintains 18th in the 250MX class points.

Darryn Durham

The ever stylish Darryn Durham made his way through Washougal battling from the back of the pack; crashes in both motos had him working to make up positions.  Durham posted 13-14 moto scores to earn 14th overall.  Darryn sits in the 250MX point chase.

Blake Baggett

The 2012 defending 250MX Motocross champion Blake Baggett came into Washougal looking for a win.  In the first moto, Baggett looked like he was on his way to a podium position when bad luck struck and his bike failed to finish the race.  Baggett then battled through the second moto to an 8th place finish, which helped him earn 15th overall for the day.  Blake maintains 4th in the points battle.

450MX Class

Andrew Short

Andrew Short was the top SCOTT athlete in the 450 class at Washougal.  Short battled within the top 5 in both motos to eventually finish 6th overall with 6-9 moto scores.  Short sits 7th in the 450MX class point standings.

Trey Canard

Trey Canard had an up and down day at Washougal.  In both motos, the friendly Honda pilot was running up front when crashed sent him to the back of the pack.  Canard logged 12-11 moto scores en route to 12th for the day, and slipped one spot in the point standings to 5th.

Phil Nicoletti

Phil Nicoletti had a decent run in moto one, posting 18th by the checkered flag.  In the second moto, Phil rebounded to an 8th place finish and with 18-8 moto scores, was credited with 14th overall.  Nicoletti sits 12th in the 450MX class standings.

Tyla Rattray

After sustaining torn cartilage in his ribcage at the previous round, it wasn't clear if Tyla Rattray was going to be able to race at Washougal.  Despite the pain, the veteran decided to race and went on to post 16-21 moto scores for 19th overall.  Rattray finds himself 13th overall in the points chase.

The next round of the AMA Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series is scheduled for July 27th in Millville, MN.
