Pascal BUCHS kicks off running season in style

22 April 2016

The BCN Tour is a local race series that hosts six 8 to 10k races on Wednesday night for no less than 4000 participants each week. From this perspective, this sounds like a low key mass event for people to enjoy a weekly workout and dinner with friends. And so it is, yet a small detail needs to be highlighted :

The level of the top finisher is absolutely ridiculous! There, the scene is set.

The top athletes of each race have the level to place high at national and international races, and they have already.

But this didn’t shy young SCOTT athlete Pascal BUCHS who placed second in an even more stacked field than usual. The Swiss athlete doesn’t come out of nowhere though.
Member of the SWISS Orienteering junior team and familiar with world circuits, BUCHS from time to time steps out of the woods to get on roads or trails. With a marked path and no obstacles to jump over, he’s shown promising skills putting 27” on his older fellow orienteer Marc Lauwenstein, winner of Sierre Zinal!

« I knew I was in good shape, but with such a stacked field at the start, I wasn’t expecting to place so high! Taking second amongst elite road and trail runners is very exciting. Season is on and I can’t wait for the next ones!”tour-du-canton-2016-pascal-buchs-153532Final results can be found here.
