Jonas Hunziker wins slopestyle bronze at the Junior World Championships

25 March 2012

This year’s FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships are taking place in Valmalenco, Italy. With over 350 athletes from 27 nations across the continents competing in these championships, the Junior Worlds are a true testament to the growth of Freestyle Skiing.

At last Thursday’s slopestyle contest Jonas Hunziker (SUI), rider of the SCOTT European Team, has qualified for the finals with the 7th place. He was even able to improve his performance and scored 71.00 in the second run of the finals, bringing him the 3rd place. This is already his second bronze medal at a Junior World Championship after 2010 in New Zealand.

Nathan Gaidet (FRA) and Maximilliam Smith (SWE), also riders of the European Team, finished on place 16 and 21, respectively.

The halfpipe contest with our junior shooting star and Olympia gold medalist Lisi Gram had to be cancelled due to snow limitations.
